Memorandum of Understanding to develop ski in Mongolia is signed

On purpose of to develop ski, Mongolian NOC, Physical Education and Sports Authority, “Ski Resort” LLC have signed Memorandum of Understanding “Sochi-2014”. Signing ceremony has been held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on 26th of December. The event was attended by Ch.Naranbaatar, Chairman of Physical Education and Sports Authority, Ts.Damdin, Vice President of Mongolian NOC, A.Batsuuri, CEO of “Ski Resort LLC”, R.Rash, President of Mongolian Ski Federation.
Ski is the most popular winter sport in Mongolia and Mongolian athletes participated all winter Olympic games since Innsbruck-1964.

Mongolian Sports Press Union ( MSPU ) is unveiled TOP TEN athletes of the country in 2011 , organizing referendum among 74 sports journalists from all kinds of media in the country. The winners are awarded at the “BURTE CHONO” Olympic Gala organized by Mongolia NOC and Sports Marketing Agency of Mongolia with attendance of Mr.S.Batbold, Prime Minister & NOC Vice-President, Mr.M.Enkhbold, Deputy Prime Minister, NOC EB Member and Chef-de-Mission of Mongolian Team to London-2012 , Mr.S.Lambaa , Minister for Health ,Dr.D.Zagdsuren , NOC President , Sh.Magvan , IOC Hon.Member , Mr.Ch.Naranbaatar , Chairman of Physical Education and Sports Authority and other dignitaries.Mr.Purevdorj SER-OD , bronze medallist at World Boxing Championships became the winner of ” BURTE CHONO”( Legend wolf – symbol of nomadic mongolians ) best athlete’s Trophy , followed by O.Nasanburmaa , D.Otgontsetseg( Both female wrestling ) , B.Ser-Od ( Marathon ) , M.Bundmaa, P.Lkhamdeged( Both female judo ) , Gangaamaa( Mountaineering ) , S.Munkhbat( National wrestling ) , B.Oyunsuren ( Female wrestling ) , U.Munkh-Erdene ( Boxing ).Also best coach’s Trophy is given to T.Sukhbaatar( Female wrestling ) , while 2011′Asian Winter Games silver medallist bandy team is distinguished as a best team.
Mongolia will send two athletes to first youth winter Olympic Games

“Innsbruck 2012” first youth Olympic Games Mongolian team farewell ceremony has been held in Olympic House, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The event was attended by Dr. D.Zagdsuren, Mongolian NOC President, S.Lambaa, Minister of Health, Ch.Naranbaatar, Chairman of Physical education and Sports Authority of Mongolia as well as other National Federations representatives. A.Enkh-Ariun, 15, in speed skating and D.Usukhbayar, 16, in cross country skiing are participating Olympic games. Mongolian youth has participated first summer youth olympic games in Singapore and won two gold medals in gymnastics and freestyle wrestling. Innsbruck is a memorable Olympic city for Mongolia, as Mongolia NOC made its first Olympic appearance at the 1964 Winter Olympics held in the Austrian city.
Sports Management Research team is launched

Sport management research team is established in Mongolia, by the initiative of kind collaboration of MNOC and Sports Marketing Agency of Mongolia. Scientists from National University of Mongolia, School of Economics, University of Physical education and other PE universities have joined this team. Research team has set their goal that is to determine social and economic impact of sport in Mongolia, hosting international level competition in a country and its management.
Tsend Damdin, Vice president of MNOC, S.Jamts, NOA vice president and former MNOC president, and other professors, scientists have attended this ceremony.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: Mongolia NOC will send two young athletes to the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, next month. The new addition to the team is Ms. Altantulga Enkh-Ariun in speed skating. Aged 15, the student at Ulaanbaatar Middle School #1 has been skating since 2006 and is the national junior champion and record holder.
The talented pupil is already an Olympian of sorts, having competed at the World Mathematics Olympiad in Korea in 2010.
